- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. Reading the file, selecting pages, and writing the new PDFs all happen in JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is transmitted, so the tool keeps working even if you disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
- How do I enter a page range?
- Use commas and hyphens: 1-3, 7, 10-12 pulls pages 1 through 3, page 7, and pages 10 through 12 into one file. Open-ended forms work too — 5- means page 5 to the end. Pages outside the document are ignored.
- Can I split into individual pages?
- Yes. Choose 'one file per page' and every page becomes its own PDF. The results are packed into a single ZIP so you download them in one click instead of clicking through dozens of files.
- Will splitting lose quality?
- No. Each page's content streams and embedded images are copied byte-for-byte with their original compression. Nothing is re-encoded, so a scanned page comes out exactly as sharp as it went in.
- Can I split a password-protected PDF?
- Not directly. Encrypted files are rejected with a clear message. Open the PDF in a reader, save an unprotected copy, then split that.
- Is there a file size or page limit?
- There's no artificial cap. The practical limit is your device's memory, since the file is held in RAM while it's processed. Hundreds of pages are fine on an ordinary laptop.
