How it works

- 2 Type the captions Fill in the top and bottom text fields. The preview redraws on every keystroke, wrapping long lines and shrinking the font until the caption fits.
- 3 Adjust and download Change the font, text size, fill colour, or outline colour if you want to move away from the classic look, then hit Download PNG or Copy image.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the meme have a watermark?
- No. The PNG you download contains only your image and your captions. There is no logo, no corner badge, and no signup wall.
- Why do memes use the Impact font?
- Impact shipped with Windows 98 and became the default on the first meme sites, so the heavy condensed letters with a black outline turned into the visual shorthand for a meme. This tool uses Impact when your system has it and falls back to a similar condensed face when it does not. Arial Black and a plain sans-serif are also available in the font dropdown.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- No. The image is decoded and drawn with the Canvas API inside your browser. It never touches a server, nothing is stored, and the tool keeps working after you go offline.
- What happens with a very long caption?
- The text wraps onto extra lines, and if it still does not fit, the font size steps down until the caption sits inside the top or bottom 45% of the picture. You can also press Enter positions manually by keeping each caption short.
- Can I use a transparent PNG or a GIF?
- Yes for both, though animation is not preserved — an animated GIF is captured as its first frame. Transparent areas of a PNG export as white unless you keep them behind the captions.
